NFIB Fed PAC Launches Ads Supporting Senators Collins and Tillis

Date: July 27, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 27, 2020)  — NFIB’s Federal PAC, the political action committee for the nation’s leading small business advocacy association, announced today a six figure digital and broadcast advertisement campaign in support of two candidates, Senators Susan Collins (ME) and Thom Tillis (NC), who have consistently stood up for America’s small businesses.

“Senators Collins and Tillis have led the charge to help small businesses recover from the effects of economic shutdowns and the pandemic,” said NFIB President Brad Close.  “They have fought for lower taxes and less regulation on small businesses, and their support has been crucial in helping local small businesses provide jobs and economic opportunities for their communities.”

The initial slate of ads is part of NFIB’s 2020 election effort that will include more advertising, direct mail to key districts, voter guides to every NFIB member across the country, and candidate forums in key races. In addition, NFIB is activating its nationwide grassroots network to educate small businesses about which candidates actually support small businesses.

“Small businesses are active and engaged – they understand that election outcomes can dramatically impact their businesses. NFIB will ensure they understand where candidates  stand on the issues that are important to small business voters,” Close said.

NFIB’s Federal PAC has met with more than 128 candidates and endorsed 207 congressional candidates in 2020 (NFIB endorsed 274 in 2018) through a transparent process that reflects the views of the organization’s membership governed by protecting incumbents who are proven allies of small business, electing pro-small business candidates in open seats, and challenging anti-small business incumbents. NFIB endorses a candidate solely on their position and record on small business issues, regardless of party affiliation.
