Raleigh, NC (August 27, 2019) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy association, endorsed Dan Bishop today for election to the United States House of Representatives. The special election to fill North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District seat will be held on September 10.
“Throughout his time in the North Carolina state Legislature, Dan Bishop has shown that he truly understands and backs the needs of small businesses in our state,” said NFIB’s North Carolina State Director Gregg Thompson. “He has earned nothing short of a 90% NFIB voting record since 2015 on legislation that allows our members’ businesses to grow, operate, and succeed. Bishop will bring his business acumen, strength, and integrity to Washington. We are proud to endorse Dan Bishop today, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in Congress.”
Dan Bishop currently serves as a North Carolina state Senator after having previously served in the North Carolina House of Representatives and on the Mecklenberg County Commission. Bishop earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in 2015-2016 and 90% in 2017-2018.
“I’m honored the NFIB has recognized my dedication to helping small businesses succeed. I have a proven record of cutting taxes and helping pass the Small Business Health Care Act. We need to continue building on our economic success, not go backward,” said Sen. Dan Bishop.
“Dan Bishop’s voting record in the North Carolina state Legislature speaks volumes,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “He has proven himself to be a true supporter of small business, and we know he will continue to focus on issues that owners care about, such as protecting tax cuts for small businesses, reducing regulatory burdens, and filling and creating jobs.”
Bishop’s endorsement comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in North Carolina will work hard to elect Dan Bishop to Congress.
