AUGUSTA, Maine (Aug. 14, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Senator Susan Collins for re-election to the United States Senate during an endorsement event at a business in Hampden today.
“Senator Susan Collins has been an invaluable advocate for our state’s small businesses throughout her time in the Senate, and especially during these unprecedented times,” said David Clough, NFIB’s Maine State Director. “She truly understands the challenges that our members are facing. Senator Collins played an instrumental role in helping to ensure small businesses received critically needed financial assistance by creating the Paycheck Protection Program, and she continues to push for targeted financial aid for Maine’s smallest businesses. We are confident that Senator Collins will continue to be a champion for small businesses everywhere in the Senate. On behalf of Maine’s small business community, we are proud to endorse her today for re-election.”
“Nearly 100% of Maine’s businesses are small businesses and they need strong representation now more than ever,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “Senator Collins has been a staunch supporter of Maine’s small business community, and she continues to stand up for issues that impact our members. We are pleased to endorse Senator Collins for re-election, and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the Senate.”
Susan Collins’ endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Maine will work hard to re-elect Susan Collins.
