The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) presents pro-small business members of Congress with its most prestigious award
DC (September 15, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the
nation’s leading advocate for small businesses, awarded Congressman Joe Heck (NV-03) with its biennial Guardian of Small
Business Award for his outstanding support of America’s small business owners
in the 114th Congress.
“Joe Heck has been a staunch defender of Nevada
small businesses during his service in the House,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Small business owners look forward to seeing
him bring that same sensibility to the Senate. As someone who owned and operated a small
business, he knows what needs to be done to foster prosperity and job growth.”
The Guardian of Small Business is NFIB’s most
prestigious award. It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently
with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners. NFIB tracks the votes of every member of
Congress. House members and Senators who
vote with NFIB members at least 70
percent of the time are eligible for the Guardian Award.
Rep. Heck has won the Guardian award three times in
his career in the House. Overall, he has
a 100 percent lifetime voting record with NFIB.
“NFIB is honored to present Joe Heck with this
award, and we hope to see him serving in the Senate next year,” Duggan
