Small Business Endorses Young Kim for Congress

Date: September 21, 2018

Washington, D.C. (Sept. 21, 2018)NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, has endorsed Young Kim for California’s 39th Congressional District.

“Young Kim has proven to be a consistent supporter of small business while serving in the California Assembly,” said NFIB’s California State Director John Kabateck. “As a small business owner herself, Kim will continue to advocate on behalf of small businesses for lowering taxes, reducing regulations, and ending frivolous lawsuits that target small business owners. We are confident that she will be a champion for small businesses in California and throughout the country in the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Kim has demonstrated her support of the small business community throughout her time in the California Assembly by earning a 100 percent voting record on issues that affect small business.

“It is a great honor to receive the endorsement of NFIB. The small business community is the backbone of the 39th District. When businesses do well the economy thrives, and our communities are stronger. When in Congress, I will work with NFIB to ensure we have an economic environment where businesses can grow and create jobs,” said Kim.

Prior to serving in the California Assembly, Kim started her career as a business owner and financial analysts. She later worked for Rep. Ed Royce as his Director of Community Operations and Asian Affairs. In 2014, she was elected to represent the 65th District in the California State Assembly and was the first ever Korean-American republican woman elected to the Assembly.

“As a small business owner and a state legislator, Young Kim understands the challenges that small businesses face every day,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “We know that she will be a great representative for members in the 39th District and will continue to fight for pro-small business policies.”

NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization. Young Kim’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities. NFIB members in California will work hard to elect Young Kim to the U.S. House.
