The Small Business Advantage Grants are offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environment. The program provides
50-percent of the cost of adopting or acquiring energy efficient or pollution
prevention equipment or processes.
Matching funds must be paid by the small business.
One million dollars has been set aside for these grants in 2015 to cover project costs incurred on or after July 27, 2015. Awards will be made until the
fiscal year funding is depleted. At that point, applications received will be
put on a wait-list in the event that funding becomes available during the fiscal
year. Small business applicants should take care to follow the application
process carefully and provide all required documentation to retain their place in the order of funding requests.
There have been some changes to the program in 2015. Insulation and air sealing are now ineligible
project costs as are pellet stoves. Coin
operated washers and dryers are no longer eligible.
Grantees can expect a 60 to 90 day review period prior to possible
selection. The selected applicants will be notified and provided a grant
agreement to execute. A one year
follow-up report is required after the applicant has collected 12 months of
project related savings data.
