NFIB Grows Membership in Southwest Ohio

Date: October 03, 2019

NFIB conducted a highly successful sales event in Southwest Ohio during the last week of September 2019.

The NFIB sales team, supported throughout the week by NFIB National Board Chairman Steve Schramm and the Ohio Government Relations team, achieved 145 new member enrollments from Ohio in just five days. The goal for the week was 130 new members. The sales team was also supported by NFIB’s marketing, digital marketing, and media teams. This was a great example of multiple departments working together to achieve a strong result for NFIB and our members.

The Sales Team, Ohio Government Relations Team, and Members worked together to grow the membership.

The NFIB marketing team mailed postcards and targeted mailers in weeks prior to help the sales representatives engage with targeted prospects. There were two successful member-get-a-member events hosted by active members in the area, and there was a well-attended new member luncheon to close out the week.

NFIB Board Chair Steve Schramm wrote an opinion piece in The Cincinnati Enquirer on why the Corporate Transparency Act is harmful for small businesses the week prior to the sales event. He wrote, “There’s a reason that politicians gave the bill such a friendly name. Few people are opposed to corporate transparency, and no member of Congress wants to be seen opposing such sensible things. But if you look past the name at the substance of the bill, you’ll find a bill that has nothing to do with corporations or transparency. What you will find is legislation that 80% of small businesses say is a bad idea.”

State Rep. George Lang, a fellow NFIB member, speaks at the luncheon to welcome new members.

NFIB cannot support our members without the day-to-day work of our terrific sales team that knock on doors every day to invite small business owners to join the cause. If you know a fellow small business owner that you believe would make a great NFIB member, please e-mail their contact information to NFIB’s grassroots manager for Ohio Colby Monachino at [email protected] and we will work to get them to be part of our organization.
