In The Columbus Dispatch, Gov. Mike DeWine called on the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate to move forward on passing the Ohio operating budget. https://www.dispatch.com/news/20190702/gov-dewine-calls-on-house-senate-to-put-tax-break-question-in-separate-bill-and-pass-budget

“Small business owners across Ohio stand with Governor DeWine’s call to move forward in passing Ohio’s operating budget without changing the business investor deduction. NFIB agrees it is time to adopt a budget with no new tax increases. As the economic engine that creates two of the three new jobs in Ohio, small business owners appreciate the strong stance of Governor DeWine that raising taxes on small businesses in the state would be a mistake at this time,” said Roger Geiger, Vice President and Executive Director for NFIB in Ohio.

“With unemployment at record lows, wages on the rise, tax revenues up, and small business optimism at historic highs, all economic signs point to allowing Ohio’s previous tax reforms to continue,” Geiger continued.

“If there is future tax legislation regarding the business investor deduction, the Ohio Senate has already created a clear pathway forward,” Geiger concluded.
