Gov. Glenn Youngkin gave the keynote address at this year’s Business Day on the Hill, held on Jan. 23 at the recently-completed General Assembly building and nearby Truist Center.

Other speakers at this year’s event included Commerce Secretary Caren Merrick, who briefed members of NFIB and other small business groups about efforts to bolster Virginia’s economy.

In his remarks, Governor Youngkin talked about the importance of creating an environment where entrepreneurs can establish and grow their small businesses.

Afterward, Governor Youngkin asked the over 100 small business owners and guests in attendance to pose for a photo with him.

“We’re grateful to Governor Youngkin, Secretary Merrick, and all of the state senators and representatives to took the time to talk to our members about the issues affecting their ability to operate a small business in Virginia,” NFIB State Director Julia Hammond said.

NFIB hosted this year’s event with the Virginia Retail Federation, Associated Builders and Contractors of Virginia, Richmond Area Municipal Contractors Association, Small Business Freedom Alliance, Virginia Assisted Living Association and Vectre Corp.
