NFIB/Virginia State Director Nicole Riley has been appointed to serve on a work group to assist in a comprehensive review of the Virginia Public Procurement Act. The group will review IT, goods, other professional services and nonprofessional services.
The work group is part of the Special Joint General Laws Subcommittee Studying the Virginia Public Procurement Act. This is first comprehensive review of the procurement act in over 20 years. The first meeting of the work groups will be on Thursday, May 8, in House Room 1 in the Capitol. All work group meetings are to be completed by Oct. 15, 2014, and the Special Joint Subcommittee will meet in mid-November 2014 to review points of consensus and decide on whether to pursue legislation for the 2015 Session.
