The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s and Virginia’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Dave Brat in the 7th District congressional race.
“Dave Brat is clearly the best choice for small business,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB vice president for Political and Grassroots.
“He’s an economics professor, and he’s served on the Joint Advisory Board of Economists, Richmond Metropolitan Authority, and several other business and investment boards,” Goeas said. “He’s worked with government to improve economic conditions for businesses, and he understands the leadership Washington needs in order to create a pro-growth environment.
“Dave Brat knows that government mandates, overzealous regulations, high taxes and a repressive health-care law make it even harder for small, family businesses to grow and create jobs,” said Nicole Riley, state director of NFIB/Virginia. “He’ll do whatever it takes to keep people working and to keep Virginia competitive and to build a strong economy.”
The endorsement comes from the NFIB SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB’s membership.
Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote. NFIB will encourage its members in the 7th district to help turn out the influential small-business voting bloc on Election Day.
