NFIB State Director Annie Spilman released the following statement today in response to Gov. Greg Abbott including regulatory consistency on the agenda of the upcoming special session of the Texas Legislature:
“Small business owners need consistency. They don’t have the time or the resources to navigate a confusing and contradictory patchwork of local ordinances that go beyond what state and federal law requires. Small businesses that operate in multiple jurisdictions need a consistent and uniform regulatory climate to stabilize, rebuild and grow.
“On behalf of our members, I want to thank Governor Abbott for including this critical issue in the agenda of the upcoming special session.”
