LISTEN: What's Happening With Small Business in TN?

Date: December 03, 2020

NFIB State Director Jim Brown joined state Rep. Mike Sparks and a number of small business owners today on News Radio WGNS AM 1450, FM 100.5, and FM 101.9 in Murfreesboro to talk about the state of small business in Tennessee.

Brown explained that NFIB represents a cross-section of Tennessee employers and that our positions on the issues are based solely on input from our members. “We don’t decide things in a boardroom,” he said. “We poll our members frequently, and we take the results of those surveys to Representative Sparks and 131 other legislators and the governor’s office.”

Ginny Williams of Gil’s Ace Hardware, an NFIB member business in Smyrna, said, “I can’t say enough good things about the NFIB. I receive a lot of emails from y’all … the National Federation of Independent Business has done a great job passing information on to businesses. Just the lobbying effort that y’all do to look out for us small business people, and then the information you passed on getting assistance from the government, I know many businesses had to take advantage of that.”
