Senate Transportation and Safety Committee Chairman Jim
Tracy (Shelbyville) today
released a schedule of nine meetings across the state “to discuss
Tennessee’s roads and transportation needs.” The meetings will kick off
Sept. 17 in Nashville and conclude Oct. 29 in Kingsport.
In between,
stops will be made in Columbia, Memphis, Huntingdon, Martin, Jackson, Knoxville
and Chattanooga.
NFIB encourages our members to attend these meetings to
learn what’s being discussed regarding suggested transportation reforms and a
possible funding proposal in 2016 or soon thereafter. NFIB expects to
engage our membership in a special survey, once we are aware of any specific
proposal.
The announced tour comes on the heels of another tour Gov.
Bill Haslam is concluding soon, after a total of 15 visits across the state.
