Leadership Council members also heard from the state House Majority Leader, Representative Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre), and st. Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York). Representative Benninghoff and Senator Phillips-Hill are NFIB Guardian Award recipients for their continued support of small and independent owners to own, operate, and grow their business. Rep. Benninghoff reiterated his support of small business and continued his pledge to make Pennsylvania the “Envy of the East.” Sen. Phillips-Hill emphasized the importance of small business owners to contact their elected officials to explain what they need and don’t need: “We need to hear from you on the issues impacting your ability to stay in business.”

Congressman Scott Perry (R-11), a federal Guardian Award recipient, spoke to the leadership council members as well, providing an update on frustrating policy initiatives in Washington, D.C. and ongoing supply chain issues. Perry encouraged all NFIB members to reach out to their elected officials to explain the impact these proposals would have on businesses in Pennsylvania. He also restated his support of the small business community and vowed to do what he can to move our economy in the right direction.
