NFIB in North Dakota Proud to Endorse Gov. Burgum for Reelection
NFIB in North Dakota, the National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small business organization, is proud to announce the endorsement of Gov. Doug Burgum in his bid for reelection in the November 2020 race. This is the second consecutive election where Governor Burgum has earned the NFIB’s endorsement. The NFIB North Dakota PAC endorsed Gov. Burgum. The political action committee is comprised solely of NFIB members in North Dakota. Its endorsement is based on a poll of NFIB members and Burgum’s position on small business issues.
“Small businesses across North Dakota are so grateful to Gov. Burgum for all he’s done to help small business the past four years,” said NFIB State Director in North Dakota, Alison Ritter. “Thanks in part to the Governor’s Main Street Initiative, North Dakota has a strong economy with a competitive tax structure. Despite a global pandemic, North Dakota small businesses are getting the help they need thanks to the governor’s leadership and his commitment to safely reopening North Dakota’s economy. Small business owners are confident in the Governor’s leadership and look forward to another four years of small business economic growth.”
Governor Burgum has a strong pro-business background: a business owner himself, he understands that small business owners are the key to keeping North Dakota’s economy humming. That’s why we need another four years under Gov. Burgum’s leadership: he will continue to keep red tape and government mandates away from the thousands of North Dakota entrepreneurs who are creating jobs and supporting North Dakota families.
“Innovation and entrepreneurship are hallmarks of successful small business and we’ve tried to apply that same mindset to reinvent state government while enacting policies that strengthen and diversify our economy,” said Gov. Doug Burgum. “We are working to keep taxes low, prepare a strong workforce, eliminate unnecessary regulations and red tape and invest in our Main Streets to make our cities and towns more attractive places to start and grow a business. We know small businesses are key to economic growth and supporting them has also been at the center of our response to COVID-19.”
Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the governor’s campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote. NFIB will encourage its North Dakota members to help turn out the powerful small business voting bloc on Election Day.
