A letter from NFIB/Texas Executive Director Will Newton
Greetings NFIB/Texas friends and family,
There has been quite a bit happening lately in the public policy realm. As you may already know, Congress passed, and President Trump signed, a major tax relief package that is aimed at helping small and large business and the individual taxpayer as well. We have been hard at work gathering information from our members on what the tax relief means to you, your business and your employees. Take a moment and share your thoughts so that we may be better able to serve you.
You also may have heard of recent action by the Austin City Council passing a mandatory paid sick leave ordinance for all employers that have employees working at least 80 hours per calendar year within the city limits. Typical Austin, right? Guess what? It’s coming to a municipality near you soon. Already we have heard Dallas, Houston and San Antonio are in the planning stages to enact their own PSL ordinance. If you live and work in Austin we’d like to hear how this ordinance may affect you and your business. Please share your story with us. If you are in other proposed areas please prepare yourself to fight the good fight and team up with NFIB to keep Texas free of unreasonable government interference.
As always, we appreciate you placing your trust in us. Your membership is valued.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know how we can be of service.
NFIB/Texas Executive Director
