Share Your Story: Paid Leave Laws in Illinois

Help us make your voice heard with your elected officials in the Illinois legislature.

In 2023, Illinois lawmakers passed legislation mandating employers to provide at least one hour of paid leave for every forty hours an employee works, up to a minimum of 40 hours per year. Regulations to enforce this new law are being considered. However, lawmakers have expressed concern that these regulations do not take into consideration the concerns of the business community.
