Chicagoland: Safety, Health, and Environmental Conference

Registration is now open for the 2019 Safety, Health, and Environmental Conference. The event will take place Sept. 16-19 at the Northern Illinois University-Naperville Campus. Register now at www.chisafetyconf.org.

The conference will offer professional training for business owners, EHS professionals, plant managers, safety committee members, union members, contractors, municipalities and others with EHS responsibilities, such as 86 Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced level professional training sessions during 1.5-hour, 3-hour or daylong workshops.

The topics focus on OSHA and EPA compliance, general safety, industrial hygiene, environmental management and professional development. Presenters include representatives from the US Small Business Administration, OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialists, lawyers, professional trainers, university professors, business owners and others with extensive knowledge and skills.

Between 2016 and 2018, 5,000 session attendees received training at 260 sessions and included people from three foreign countries, 29 states, 142 Illinois communities working at 462 companies in 26 industries.

There will be an all-day business expo where companies from across the US showcase their latest products and services. A networking event with hors d’oeuvres and drinks follows the expo. Continental breakfast, lunch and am/pm snacks will be included each day.

Professional training sessions include: SBA Funding 101, Workers Comp – Post Offer Testing, Reasonable Suspicion, Temporary Workers, Walking Working Surfaces, Office Ergonomics – Silent Danger, Incident Investigation, Active Shooter – Opioid Crisis, Marijuana in the Workplace, Disaster Planning – Electrical Safety, Introduction to OSHA for Small Business, A Star is Born – Inside and Out, and many more.
