Wicker Recognized as Guardian of Small Business

Date: November 01, 2018

NFIB, the nation’s leading small-business association, presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker today. NFIB State Director Ron Aldridge presented the award to Wicker during a brief ceremony at Mobility Medical Inc., an NFIB member business at 554 Park Lane in Flowood.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on members of Congress in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues.

“I am proud to be recognized by America’s leading association for small businesses for my support of pro-growth and pro-jobs policies,” Wicker said. “This Republican Congress and the Trump Administration have cut taxes and repealed regulations that held our economy back. This attention to needed reforms has helped deliver results for hardworking Mississippians, fueling a booming economy, more jobs, higher wages, and renewed confidence in our country.”

Wicker has earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in the 115th Congress (2017-18), siding with small businesses on regulatory and legal reform. He also supported the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which eased the financial pressure on small businesses and made it easier for them to grow and to create jobs.

“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Senators who truly vote as champions of small business,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan. “Those who earn this recognition have been staunch supporters on the issues that are crucial to the success of small businesses, like making tax relief for small businesses a reality.

“Guardians of Small Business are the lawmakers small business owners can count on as advocates in Washington, and we’re proud to award these Senators the recognition they earned during the 115th Congress,” Duggan said.

“Senator Wicker is a strong and consistent advocate for small business,” Aldridge said. “He understands the challenges facing Mississippi’s job creators, and he has fought to create an environment where small, independent businesses can grow and create jobs.

“On behalf of our members here and throughout the country, I want to thank Senator Wicker for supporting small business,” Aldridge said. “It’s my honor to present him with this Guardian of Small Business Award.”
