NFIB presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to Sen. Paul Bailey.
The Tennessee office of NFIB, the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to state Sen. Paul Bailey (District 15). NFIB made the presentation this morning at CHC Mechanical Contractors, an NFIB member in Cookeville.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for his outstanding leadership on small-business issues.
“Paul Bailey is a very strong supporter of small business,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “Senator Bailey not only has a perfect lifetime 100 percent voting record with NFIB, but he has shown great leadership running the Senate Commerce & Labor Committee. His commitment to low taxes, sensible regulation and less red tape on small business has significantly helped to promote a stable and predictable environment for entrepreneurs in his district and across Tennessee.”
Bailey, a longtime NFIB member, also serves on the Transportation & Safety, Joint Fiscal Review, and Joint Pensions & Insurance committees.
“It’s a great honor to receive the NFIB Guardian of Small Business award because the success of our small businesses is a significant reason why I ran for office,” Bailey said. “Small business is the backbone of our state economy, and I’ll continue to support our job creators and risk takers who are so important to the success of our communities across Tennessee.”
