The Tennessee office of NFIB, the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to state Sen. Ken Yager (District 12). NFIB made the presentation this afternoon at Blue Springs Boat Company, an NFIB member in Kingston.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for his outstanding leadership on small-business issues.
“Ken Yager is a staunch advocate for small business in the Tennessee General Assembly,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “Senator Yager not only has an exceptional lifetime voting record with NFIB but also demonstrated great leadership chairing the Senate State & Local Committee for many years. His unwavering commitment to low taxes, sensible regulation and less red tape on small business has significantly helped to promote a stable and predictable environment for Tennessee’s entrepreneurs.”
Yager currently serves on the State & Local, Finance, Ways & Means, Ethics, and Joint Fiscal Review committees.
