U.S. Rep. Jason Smith (8th District) visited Crader Distributing in Marble Hill on Monday, Nov. 5, to receive an NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award and take the NFIB Small Business Challenge. While at Crader, Smith was taught to use a robotic lawnmower.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on members of Congress in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. Smith has earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in the 115th Congress (2017-18), siding with small businesses on regulatory and legal reform. He also supported the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which eased the financial pressure on small businesses and made it easier for them to grow and to create jobs.
The Small Business Challenge is a national campaign that invites lawmakers to spend a day “on the job” at a small business in their community and allows them to experience firsthand the challenges small-business owners face, including day-to-day management, compliance, and tax issues.
