NFIB held its annual Small Business Day luncheon in Raleigh on Tuesday, May 21, at City Club Raleigh, in a meeting room overlooking the State Capitol.
Speakers at this year’s event included Community College System President Peter Hans and Commerce Secretary Anthony Copeland. Gov. Roy Cooper was scheduled to speak but was unable to attend.

Copeland talked about the vital role small business plays in the state’s economy.
Copeland was followed by Hans, president of the North Carolina Community College System.

Hans spoke with NFIB’s state director for North Carolina, Gregg Thompson, about the role community colleges can play in training people to enter the workforce or change careers.
