NFIB Endorses Buddy Carter for Congress

Date: October 22, 2014

The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia’s leading small-business association, today endorsed Buddy Carter for Congress in the 1st District.

“Buddy Carter is the clear small-business candidate in the 1st District race,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Vice President of Political and Grassroots. “Buddy Carter has been an NFIB member for more than 25 years with his business, Carter’s Pharmacy, and he understands the challenges facing Main Street.”

Kyle Jackson, state director of NFIB/Georgia, agreed. “Buddy Carter earned a lifetime 100-percent NFIB Voting Record as a member of the General Assembly, taking the small-business position on 49 key votes between his two terms in the House and three in the Senate,” Jackson said.

“In the legislature, Buddy Carter was an unwavering advocate of free enterprise,” Jackson said. “Buddy Carter voted to allow insurance to be sold across state lines, to reform the state’s tax code, and to limit liabilities in tort law.

“Our members have every confidence that Buddy Carter will continue to advocate for small business in Congress.”

Buddy Carter’s endorsement comes from the NFIB SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and is based on his record and positions on key small-business issues including health care, taxes and labor and regulatory issues.

NFIB has over 7,000 dues-paying members in Georgia, representing a cross section of the state’s economy. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote on Election Day.
