NFIB, the state’s largest small business association, presented Daytona Beach Shores small business owner Audrey Dando with the prominent Small Business Champion Award. Audrey owns Tropical Manor on the Ocean in Daytona Beach Shores.

Governor Ron DeSantis was in attendance at the award presentation, which was part of NFIB’s Small Business Day at the Capitol in Tallahassee.

“Audrey is a tireless advocate for small business owners across Florida,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB’s Executive Director in Florida. “Audrey’s enthusiasm for and commitment to the small business community and NFIB is unmatched. As a member of NFIB, Audrey has marched the halls of the Capitol advocating for small business owners, not only in Tallahassee but in Washington, DC as well. Her entrepreneurial spirit is infectious, and it has been a true gift to work with Audrey and watch her business grow.”

NFIB’s Small Business Champion award recognizes long-tenured NFIB members who have demonstrated their dedication to small business advocacy. Audrey has been a member of NFIB since 1967.

“I understood the importance and significance of NFIB’s work and mission starting during the very early years of my business, and I joined NFIB to help our business grow,” Audrey said. “The Tropical Manor’s motto of ‘Not the Largest, But One of the Nicest’ (Hotels in Daytona Beach, Florida) is well supported by NFIB’s mission of protecting and promoting small businesses.”

Audrey has been the owner of Tropical Manor since 1956. She continues to run the business today alongside her daughter Aileen Band and her grandson Benjamin Band.
