The NFIB Texas PAC has endorsed Mike Toth for a seat on the bench of the Texas Third Court of Appeals. The political action committee is comprised entirely of NFIB members.
NFIB State Director Annie Spilman says, “It’s critically important to have a judiciary that is fair and impartial but understands the issues affecting the small-business community.
“As special counsel for state Attorney General Ken Paxton, he challenged the U.S. Department of Labor’s unfair ‘persuader rule,'” Spilman says. The rule required business owners to tell the federal government about any communications with outside consultants or attorneys concerning employee relations or union organizing.
“Toth also worked with legislators on Paxton’s behalf to encourage the support of legislation prohibiting the state or political subdivision of the state from collecting membership dues from any public employee on behalf of a trade union, labor union, employees’ association or professional association,” Spilman says.
“We need judges who believe in having a level playing field and won’t favor one side or another,” Spilman says. “That’s why the NFIB Texas PAC is endorsing Mike Toth for Texas Third Court of Appeals.”
