NFIB Mississippi PAC Endorses Mike Chaney for Insurance Commissioner

Date: October 17, 2019

The NFIB Mississippi PAC has endorsed Mike Chaney for state insurance commissioner. The political action committee is comprised exclusively of NFIB members in Mississippi, and its endorsement is based on a survey of NFIB members throughout the state.

“Small business believes the overwhelmingly best choice for insurance commissioner is clear,” said Ron Aldridge, NFIB’s state director for Mississippi. “Our members support the candidates who truly support small business. Mike Chaney has done just that. He has stood up for the insured, served with integrity and fairness, and helped create an insurance, legal, and regulatory environment that helps attract and keep good businesses in Mississippi.”

“As insurance commissioner for the past 12 years, Mike Chaney has continued to earn small business’s trust and support,” Aldridge said. “Mike Chaney is a small business owner himself and has shown us that he understands the challenges facing our small, family businesses, and their employees. He will work with them to find commonsense solutions. Mike’s worked extremely hard to make insurance more affordable and accessible.”

“Mike Chaney has a longstanding track record of being counted on to stand up for and support small business and free enterprise. During his prior 15 years of state legislative service and leadership in the Mississippi House and Senate, he was a stalwart advocate with a strong 94 percent NFIB Mississippi Voting Record on key votes identified as important to small business.”

“Affordable and competitive insurance is critical to every Mississippian and especially for our state’s economic engine and No. 1 job creator — small business. It’s critical to re-elect Mike Chaney as our insurance commissioner. He’s a proven advocate you can count on for all of us. That’s why I am proud to announce the NFIB Mississippi PAC’s support for Mike Chaney as state insurance commissioner.”

Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind Chaney’s campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to vote.
