Video: NFIB Georgia PAC Endorses Kemp for Governor

Date: September 05, 2018

The NFIB Georgia Political Action Committee has endorsed Brian Kemp for governor. NFIB is the nation’s leading small-business association.

The NFIB Georgia PAC’s endorsement is based on the candidate’s record and position on small-business issues.

“Brian Kemp is the clear choice for Georgia’s small businesses,” NFIB State Director Nathan Humphrey said.

“He has worked to make the secretary of state’s office more efficient and more responsive to the needs of small businesses,” Humphrey said. “As a state senator, he consistently earned a 100% voting record with NFIB, opposing higher taxes and burdensome rules and regulations that would have made it harder for small businesses to grow and create jobs.

“As a small-business owner and a member of NFIB, Brian Kemp understands the challenges facing Georgia’s job creators,” Humphrey said. “As governor, he would focus on cutting taxes, imposing a cap on government spending, and encouraging more economic development in rural communities.

“On behalf of our dues-paying members throughout the state, it’s my honor to announce the NFIB Georgia PAC’s endorsement of Brian Kemp for governor,” Humphrey said.

“I am honored to earn the National Federation of Independent Business endorsement,” said Kemp. “Over thirty years ago, I started my first company with just a shovel and a pick-up truck. Now, I am running for governor to make Georgia the best place to start a small business, grow a small business, invest in a small business, or work at a small business. By cutting government red tape, investing in education and workforce development, and lowering taxes on hardworking Georgians, we can grow jobs, strengthen rural Georgia, and ensure that our best days are ahead.”

Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the governor’s campaign. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote. NFIB will encourage its Georgia members to help turn out the powerful small-business voting bloc on Election Day.
