Wisconsin’s economic outlook is looking rosier than last year, according to a new report.
According to the American Legislative Exchange Council’s annual “Rich States, Poor States” report, Wisconsin climbed 4 spots, from No. 17 in 2014 to No. 13 in 2014.
Among its most harsh individual metrics, the state ranked low for its property tax burden, which is $42.29 per $1,000 of personal income, and 50 for not yet being a right-to-work state. The study did not factor in the state’s recent status change as a right-to-work state, which could lead to a further climb in next year’s rankings.
The state’s highest individual rankings, though, included high marks for not levying an inheritance tax and maintaining a relatively low minimum wage.
