The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC) has new leadership in place, and this could be good news for the state’s small business owners.
Melanie Willoughby, the new executive director of the NJBAC, comes from the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, where she served as chief government affairs officer. In that role, she managed the government relations department and worked to provide state legislative and regulatory advocacy and compliance information in order to improve businesses’ bottom lines.
In Willoughby’s introduction message, she noted the BAC team is pro-business and serves to advocate for all businesses. Those at BAC navigate government services and programs on businesses’ behalf to provide the best conditions for business growth and job creation. BAC is ultimately the one-stop resource for everything needed to run a business in New Jersey, whether launching a business from the start, expanding it, or relocating. Their services include:
- Identifying eligibility for state financial and incentive programs and creating a detailed proposal that will help business owners take action
- Providing assistance navigating the state’s permitting and regulatory processes
- Preparing a list of real estate options that match a business’ site selection services
- Helping identify buyers, international markets, and partners for joint ventures and strategic alliances in new markets
“Melanie has exciting plans for the Business Action Center, and she will definitely be a great advocate for small business,” said NFIB/NJ State Director Laurie Ehlbeck. “In this current administration, it will be very helpful to have a friend.”
