With excellent rankings in infrastructure and low costs of doing business, Indiana ranks eleventh in the nation in terms of best places to do business according to CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business scorecard.
In addition to ranking first in the country for infrastructure, Hoosier State’s came in fourth for both business friendliness and cost of doing business. High marks for cost of living (No. 9), overall economy (No. 17), and access to capital (No. 21) bolstered the overall score.
Low rankings in workforce (No. 29), education (No. 32), technology & innovation (No. 30), and quality of life (No. 44) tempered the state’s overall score.
CNBC’s industry experts used more than 64 different metrics in 10 categories to rank states in areas such as taxes, wages, rental costs, average commute times, and air travel availability. Data used for the study came primarily from publicly available information, including government databases or neutral third parties.
