Georgia secured the sixth spot in national rankings of best places to do business according to CNBC’s business scorecard.

With excellent rankings in infrastructure and cost of living, Georgia secured the sixth spot in national rankings of best places to do business according to CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business scorecard.

In addition to ranking fifth in the nation for infrastructure and eleventh for cost of living, Georgia’s score was bolstered by high rankings in access to capital (No. 10), business friendliness (No. 16), workforce (No. 11), and technology & innovation (No. 16). The study specifically cited Georgia’s world-class workforce as a key driver for the state’s high score.

Georgia’s rankings in terms of the cost of doing business (No. 28) tempered the state’s high score. Out of the categories considered, this was the only area in which the state was not ranked in the top 25.

The study was conducted by CNBC’s industry experts using more than 64 different metrics in 10 categories to rank states in areas such as taxes, wages, rental costs, average commute times, and air travel availability. Data used for the study came primarily from publicly available information, including government databases or neutral third parties.
