Nearly 60% Have Positive Outlook For Next Six Months
The latest edition of the American Express OPEN
Small Business Monitor survey shows that more Florida businesses are more
optimistic than the national average about the direction of their businesses.
According to the survey, 59% have a positive view of their business prospects
in the coming six months, compared to 54% nationwide. South Florida economist
William B. Stronge told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that Florida businesses
are feeling good after a strong winter tourism season, and suggested that the
boosted optimism may be here to stay, as long as “relatively good economic
news” continues to arrive. However, the survey was not all good news for
Florida small businesses – 22% described their business as a “sinking ship,”
compared to 13% nationwide. The poll surveyed businesses with 100 employees or
fewer.
