NFIB Fighting for Vital Small Business Tax Relief
Listen: Karen Harned, Executive Director of NFIB’s Small Business Legal Center, told WHO radio’s Jeff D’Angelo about the NFIB Legal Center’s amicus brief in Iowa supporting the state in its challenge to the provision of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 that would prevent states from using federal funds for state tax relief for Iowa small business owners.
Harned told Iowa listeners, “If a state takes any federal money, that state can not directly or indirectly reduce taxes on citizens. That is tying the hands of states on one of the primary sovereign rights, which is to form a budget for citizens that meets state’s needs.”
