Governor Murphy Repealing COVID Restrictions

Date: May 06, 2021

Small business owners are breathing a sigh of relief because Governor Murphy announced that COVID restrictions will be lifted starting May 19.  Finally, more than a year after the pandemic hit New Jersey, our Main Street businesses will be allowed to make safe and responsible choices for their employees and customers.

Small business owners  in New Jersey have been doing the right thing all along, following local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines and now will finally be allowed to reopen while continuing to use COVID best practices.  The announcement, which is identical to what the Governors in Connecticut and New York have already done, will enable restaurants, gyms, personal services, movie theatres and other stores to operate at full capacity.

This ensures local businesses have the opportunity to capitalize on the shopping and spending that is so critical to small business owners as Memorial Day weekend approaches. Hopefully,  a successful summer of 2021 will ensure our small businesses recover from this crippling pandemic.
