Veterans advocate scored 100 percent on the association’s small-business-voting record
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 14, 2020—The political action committee for California’s leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Assemblyman Devon Mathis for reelection to his 26th District seat.
“It’s important to have a reliable friend and champion of small business such as Devon Mathis during the most trying time in our state’s history,” said John Kabateck, California state director for NFIB, “The pandemic has caused a whirlwind of legislative activity aimed at dealing with it that small businesses can be harmed in the crosscurrents. That’s why small business is pleased lawmakers like Devon Mathis are keeping an eye on them and when need be, keeping them out of harm’s way. We often remind legislators that small businesses are not smaller versions of big businesses. Assemblyman Mathis fundamentally understands that and we’re grateful he’s in our corner.”
The endorsement of Mathis was made by the NFIB CA PAC and based on six votes taken in the first half of the 2019-2020 session. A minimum of 70% was needed for endorsement consideration. Mathis scored 100 percent.
Mathis represents all of Inyo County, Lake Isabella in Kern County, and the Tulare County communities of Dinuba, Exeter, Farmersville, Lindsay, Porterville, Tulare, Visalia, and Woodlake.
