NFIB's Duggan: 2019 Means New Tax Cuts. We Need Your Help to Make Them Permanent.

Date: February 07, 2019

2019 is already off to a fast start at NFIB as we work with a new Congress, address regulatory issues that affect you, and host state small business days at capitols across the country.

This year is also when small and independent businesses will file their taxes under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The newly released IRS rules made clear that the vast majority of small businesses will be able to take advantage of the 20 percent Small Business Deduction. For those members organized as corporations, tax rates dropped from 39 to 21 percent.

These tax cuts would not be possible without you and your efforts to ensure small businesses were included the tax reform bill. After the initial bill didn’t include small business tax relief, we worked tirelessly on your behalf and the Small Business Deduction was ultimately included. Stay tuned for resources we’ll be rolling out in the next few weeks that are intended to provide you with information about the Small Business Deduction.

Our work is far from over, however, because the Small Business Deduction isn’t permanent. Please take a moment to watch the video below to learn more about a bipartisan bill that makes the deduction permanent and what you can do to urge lawmakers to support it.

Your voice matters, and without it, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thank you for your continued support of NFIB.

Sincerely,

Juanita D. Duggan
