Update: Small Business Day in Baton Rouge

Date: June 15, 2015

Louisiana state director Dawn Starns discusses Small Business Day at the capitol, as well as other legislative updates.

Dear NFIB/Louisiana Members,

Happy Summer Small Business Owners! We have wrapped up the legislative session in Baton Rouge and proud to say we fought the good fight on your behalf.

We had a successful member meeting in Baton Rouge to celebrate Small Business Day at the capitol on May 26. Congressman Garret Graves was our keynote speaker with a federal update. Additionally, we had a dozen legislators from the Senate and House join us for a state update. Our annual meeting was sponsored in part by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Cox Small Business and Louisiana Economic Development.

We are working diligently on the 2014/2015 Louisiana Voting Record and will be getting that out to you well in advance of the fall elections. And stay tuned for summer and fall member programming!

Regards,
Dawn Starns
NFIB/Louisiana State Director
