An Update from Your NFIB/Louisiana State Director

Date: June 14, 2016 Last Edit: June 16, 2016

Don’t miss your chance to find out where Lousiana’s next Senator stands on small business!

Small business owners! Please be aware of two important events. First: Time is running out to buy tickets to our U.S. Senate candidate forum Wednesday, June 29, in Baton Rouge. We’ve invited the four candidates with at least 5% in the latest polls. They’ll answer questions about the issues affecting small businesses like yours, including where they stand on taxes, regulatory reform, and health care. To learn more, contact Member Support Manager Sarah Waters at [email protected] or 615-872-5331.

Second: We are in a second Special Session to raise more taxes to fund the operations of state government. Issues before the legislature like increase to personal income tax rates and brackets, as well as, the rollback of the Federal Excess Itemized Deduction are on the table. Please call your legislator today and tell them to vote no to onerous new tax increases on the backs of small business.

Thanks for your commitment to your businesses and communities. We remind legislators constantly that you are our state’s job creators, and we must pursue pro-business policies.
