An Update From Your NFIB/PA State Director

Date: May 20, 2015

One of the biggest complaints we hear from our members is about the number of regulations out there today, the time it takes to complete all the paperwork and the cost of compliance.

NFIB is working hard in Harrisburg and at the federal level to demand a sensible regulatory climate.  You will hear from U.S. Rep. Tom Marino (PA-Dist. 11), who told NFIB members in Williamsport recently about his efforts to rein in the Administration’s regulatory machine, and about bills he’s introduced to do just that.

In Pennsylvania, NFIB staff monitors the latest Dept. of Environment proposals to keep you apprised of the ones that could affect your business.  In this newsletter you’ll learn about the latest effort to require Pennsylvania businesses using private wells to pay for monthly water tests.

You also will hear about how regulations are prevent business growth, first from a York County business owner who wants to expand her dog-treat business. And, NFIB Pennsylvania’s Leadership Council President, David Cranston, Jr., explains regulations are a problem, but not the only problem threatening the future of small business in the Commonwealth.

Please know we are here for you, on the front lines, making sure the lawmakers hear what havoc ill-advised public policy can wreak on the small-business owner.

Sincerely,

Kevin Shivers

Executive State Director, NFIB Pennsylvania
