Legislative issues are still in discussion even though the 2015 session is over, state director Brad Jones says, including several bills Gov. Nixon has to decide on by July.
Dear NFIB/Missouri Members,
Although the session is over, the policy issues facing Missouri small businesses are not. The governor has several bills to consider before the July deadline. He has already vetoed the Right to Work and Unemployment bill we, so we already know those are possible override targets when the General Assembly convenes in September for the annual Veto Session. Other issues, like preemption of local minimum wage laws and reigning in certain practices by the Department of Revenue, have yet to decided. It is very likely that NFIB will be sending several alerts to the membership this summer encouraging them to either contact the governor or their legislators to override his vetoes. The power of NFIB is truly felt when you act.
Regards,
Brad Jones
