Your State’s 2022 NFIB Member Ballot

Date: January 06, 2022

If you’re an NFIB member, you may be receiving your state’s ballot tomorrow

If you are an NFIB member, you may receive an email with information on how to vote your state’s issues ballot tomorrow. Depending on the state where you live, you may also have received this information in December.

NFIB’s “One Member, One Vote” policy means that all small business owners, no matter their employee number or income, have a chance to make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them. Every NFIB member gets one vote on the issues, with no exceptions.

We encourage all members to take this opportunity to vote on your ballot’s state-specific issues. Some of the issues that may appear on your state’s ballot include natural gas ordinances, extended producer responsibility recycling programs, electric vehicle infrastructure, minimum wage, and more.

If you live in one of the following states, your 2022 state ballot access information will be sent to your business on Friday, Jan. 7: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia, or Wisconsin.

Each ballot question includes background information as well as arguments for and against each issue. On each issue, small business owners can vote “yes”, “no”, or “undecided”. When a position gains significant majority support, then that state’s advocacy team makes it a high priority.

For over 75 years, NFIB’s member ballot system has been a constant and foundational element to our work. Unlike almost every other business association, the lobbying positions NFIB takes in both Washington D.C. and state capitals are based on what its members say are important to their ability to own, operate, and grow their businesses.

NFIB’s ballots are only available to NFIB members. Members can log in to access their state’s ballot at NFIB.com/VoteMyBallot. If you aren’t an NFIB member, join today and you will receive the next members’ ballot later this year. The NFIB membership sign-up process takes only a few minutes and filling out the ballot takes just a few minutes more – but your input will shape NFIB’s efforts and impact.
