Unemployment for the Self-Employed in New Hampshire

Date: April 24, 2020

How to apply

NFIB wants to be sure our members who are independent contractors, freelancers, self-employed or gig workers know that they can apply for unemployment benefits under the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) recently passed by Congress.

Be aware that in New Hampshire, a self-employed person must first go through the application for regular unemployment providing the required documentation. Soon, when the state has instituted the new PUA program for the self-employed it says those claimants do not need to take any new or additional action. Funding will be shifted to the federal source at that time.

To apply in New Hampshire go to this link: https://whttps://www.nhes.nh.gov/ww.vec.virginia.gov/html/pua.html

We wish you and your family well over the coming months as our organization works on your behalf in Washington, D.C. and your state capital at this difficult time.
