Unlike other business advocacy organizations, our positions aren’t based on the whims of a board of directors. Our positions are based on our member ballots.
NFIB’s member ballot system has been a foundational element of our work for over 75 years. Each member gets one vote on the issues — no exceptions. This democratic system has served small businesses well.
The ballot provides the essential background information on each issue and explains the arguments for and against each question. On each issue, our members can vote “yes” or “no” to tell us whether they support or oppose the issue. As their positions on each issue gain a significant majority response, we’ll carry our members’ message to the state legislature.
We’ll be sending our members the 2022 state ballot in the coming week. It’s important for each member to read and return their ballot so the voice of small business will be heard loud and clear in next year’s legislative session!
