Dover (January 15, 2014)– The National
Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), which represents hundreds of
small business owners in Delaware, has named Jessica Cooper as its new state director.
“Delaware has been one of the best
places in the Mid Atlantic for small businesses and it’s important for our
members to maintain that advantage,” said Tim
Goodrich, NFIB Public Policy Director for the organization’s North
Region. “Jessica is a perfect fit and
she’ll bring a lot of energy and commitment to the position.”
Cooper will take over for outgoing
State Director Ellen Valentino, who notified the organization recently that she
would be moving on. Cooper, who currently
serves as the NFIB State Director for Maryland, will now cover Delaware as
well. Previously she served as NFIB
Member Support Manager for both states.
“It’s been a wonderful experience
getting to know the members and working with them at the grassroots level,”
said Cooper. “I’m deeply honored to
remain in their service and I am going to fight very hard for their interests
in Dover.”
Cooper is a California native who now
lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with her husband, Rob. She is a graduate of Marquette University
where she studied public relations and political science. She worked previously for the American
Motorcyclist Association as their national grassroots coordinator.
