Georgia farmers, ranchers, and foresters in eligible counties can apply for financial relief beginning March 16 through the Georgia Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program. The storm caused tremendous damage across much of the state in September 2024.

The state received $531.2 million in federal funding to help cover losses not already addressed by existing USDA programs. The application period will close at midnight on April 27, 2026.

The program is open to producers who suffered losses from Hurricane Helene in the following areas:

• Timber

• Farm infrastructure

• Poultry

• Beef cattle

• Dairy cattle

• Milk production

• Dairy feed

• Pecans

• Blueberries

• Citrus

• Nursery crops

• Plasticulture and bare-ground practices
