TAKE ACTION: Stop the Property Tax Increase in Wisconsin!

Help Wisconsin small businesses and reverse Governor Evers' 400-year tax mandate

Governor Evers used a partial veto to turn a two-year education funding increase into a 400-year mandate. This means property taxes will rise by $325 per student every year for centuries—without legislative approval.

By 2033, spending will be about $3,575 more per student, and by 2043, taxpayers could pay $5 billion annually for K-12 education. Over 20 years, that’s an estimated $57 billion increase in state aid and property taxes.

Wisconsin already has the second-highest property taxes in the Midwest. Small businesses cannot absorb this burden. This veto was a blatant abuse of power.

Legislation to end this perpetual tax hike has passed the Senate and is now in the Assembly. Contact your legislators today and urge them to support this bill.
