Polling confirms strong public support for the Small Business Deduction.
NFIB’s Vice President of Federal Government Relations Jeff Brabant joined “Syracuse’s Morning News with Dave Allen” on WSYR Radio in New York on June 18 to discuss the importance of the federal Small Business Deduction for Main Street businesses. His newest update came on the heels of NFIB’s very successful member fly-in last week to lobby Congress to retain and make permanent the Small Business Deduction.
Brabant emphasized the impact of the Small Business Deduction for Main Street businesses in New York and nationwide and updated listeners on the latest Congressional action for the “One Big Beautiful Bill” in which the Small Business Deduction is included. The U.S. Senate is currently finishing work on its version of the legislative package, which passed the House of Representatives late last month.
>>>>> NFIB’s recent polling makes clear the public’s strong support for the Small Business Deduction.
The 20% Small Business Deduction was created as a part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations. However, the tax reductions for large corporations under the 2017 law were made permanent. The deduction has empowered small business owners to overcome the economic challenges of the last few years. If Congress fails to act, millions of small businesses that have been taking advantage of the 20% Small Business Deduction on their federal taxes are facing a huge tax increase when the deduction expires at the end of this year.
