Bakersfield Radio Audience Hears from NFIB Vice President

May 21, 2025

Timely interview comes as “Big Beautiful Bill” Moves Through U.S. House

NFIB Vice President for Federal Government Relations Jeff Brabant checked in with listeners of The Terry Maxwell Show on KNZR 1560 AM in Bakersfield May 21 on the progress of the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” tax measure working its way through the House of Representatives at the moment.

“Congress has been exceeding expectations in getting things done this year so far,” said Brabant. “If you remember back to 2017, it took them a full year to write that tax bill and [this year] we’re only in May and we’re almost halfway there. Things are on the right track. We’ll see if Congress gets over the finish line.”

Much of Maxwell’s interview with Brabant was about the many difficulties in running a small business and who makes it difficult. The host described his struggle in owning a fine-dining establishment.

Both men touched upon a range of subjects during their 29-minute conversation, including NFIB’s fight against the beneficial ownership reporting requirements that it has helped roll back a bit.
